"Africa, the modern day misunderstood continent of all the continents had existed, is still existing and will continue to exist." Her raw materials come to feed the machinery of the western world and thus make her wheels of fortune turn; as Africa, unfortunately grows poor through manipulations.
What is Africa? Where is Africa? What is Africa made up of? Africa is a very huge landmass. It is the second largest continent after Asia. Many a time, people who have very little knowledge about this beautiful continent, think of it as a small place which is not even part of our civilized world. To the misinformed folks, come and let us together, wear our intellectual spectacles so as to read and place Africa at her proper position. This land is not a tiny country, a place or a state. It is truly, a huge continent, which has many countries.
A Befitting Tribute To Mother Africa Through Poetry
MOTHER AFRICA Fall 2000
Many of you don't even know that I exist Oh! What a shame Too many people I have welcomed and supported And I still do Here I am on a mock stage Even though my breast milk is still overflowing Rather, it is being fed knowingly and unknowingly To ignorance After a hard day's work-- Feeding my own children becomes an impossible Chore---Why? Regular mining of my many precious minerals and Cutting down of my virgin forests I have been left in a limbo; I have been Crippled, bruised and manipulated for the longest And yet, nobody seems to recognize me...
